Local Guide

Peccia: Marble and soapstone
Peccia, the valley and its stones
The lateral valley of Peccia is characterized by outcrops of soapstone and white marble, which is extracted and worked since over sixty years.
We will visit the only quarry in Switzerland where white marble is extracted, its working laboratories and the annexed Sculpture School, which opened nearly thirty years ago and is attended by professional sculptors and amateurs from all over the world.

Cevio: Houses, gardens, squares...
Where man meets nature
We will discover Cevio’s territory and explore its aesthetic and architectural riches.
With knowledge, art and respect for the surrounding landscape man has created houses, courtyards, gardens, lanes, grottoes and village squares according to function and communal exigencies, thus gifting us with this precious and extraordinary example of symbiosis between nature and man.
